A Black Columnist Give His View on Barack Obama

What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama.

Ken Blackwell – Columnist for the New York Sun

It’s an amazing time to be alive in America . We’re in a year of firsts in this presidential election: the first viable woman candidate; the first viable African-American candidate; and, a candidate who is the first frontrunning freedom fighter over 70. The next president of America will be a first.

We won’t truly be in an election of firsts, however, until we judge every candidate by where they stand. We won’t arrive where we should be until we no longer talk about skin color or gender. Now that Barack Obama steps to the front of the Democratic field, we need to stop talking about his race, and start talking about his policies and his politics.

The reality is this: Though the Democrats will not have a nominee until August, unless Hillary Clinton drops out, Mr. Obama is now the frontrunner, and its time America takes a closer and deeper look at him. Some pundits are calling him the next John F. Kennedy. He’s not. He’s the next George McGovern. And it’s time people learned the facts.

Because the truth is that Mr. Obama is the single most liberal senator in the entire U.S. Senate. He is more liberal than Ted Kennedy, Bernie Sanders, or Mrs. Clinton. Never in my life have I seen a presidential frontrunner whose rhetoric is so far removed from his record. Walter Mondale promised to raise our taxes, and he lost. George McGovern promised military weakness, and he lost. Michael Dukakis promised a liberal domestic agenda, and he l ost.

Yet Mr. Obama is promising all those things, and he’s not behind in the polls. Why? Because the press has dealt with him as if he were in a beauty pageant. Mr. Obama talks about getting past party, getting past red and blue, to lead the United States of America . But let’s look at the more defined strokes of who he is underneath this superficial “beauty.”

Start with national security, since the president’s most important duties are as commander-in-chief. Over the summer, Mr. Obama talked about invading Pakistan, a nation armed with nuclear weapons; meeting without preconditions with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who vows to destroy Israel and create another Holocaust; and Kim Jong II, who is murdering and starving his people, but emphasized that the nuclear option was off the table against terrorists – something no president has ever taken off the table since we created nuclear weapons in the 1940s. Even Democrats who have worked in national security condemned all of those remarks. Mr. Obama is a foreign-policy novice who would put our national security at risk.

Next, consider economic policy. For all its faults, our health care system is the strongest in the world. And free trade agreements, created by Bill Clinton as well as President Bush, have made more goods more affordable so that even people of modest means can live a life that no one imagined a generation ago. Yet Mr. Obama promises to raise taxes on “the rich.” How to fix Social Security? Raise taxes. How to fix Medicare? Raise taxes. Prescription drugs? Raise taxes. Free college? Raise taxes. Socialize medicine? Raise taxes. His solution to everything is to have government take it over. Big Brother on steroids, funded by your paycheck.

Finally, look at the social issues. Mr. Obama had the audacity to open a stadium rally by saying, “All praise and glory to God!” but says that Christian leaders speaking for life and marriage have “hijacked” – hijacked – Christianity. He is pro-partial birth abortion, and promises to appoint Supreme Court justices who will rule any restriction on it unconstitutional. He espouses the abortion views of Margaret Sanger, one of the early advocates of racial cleansing. His spiritual leaders endorse homosexual marriage, and he is moving in that direction. In Illinois , he refused to vote against a statewide ban – ban – on all handguns in the state. These are radical left, Hollywood , and San Francis co values, not Middle America values.

The real Mr. Obama is an easy target for the general election. Mrs. Clinton is a far tougher opponent. But Mr. Obama could win if people don’t start looking behind his veneer and flowery speeches. His vision of “bringing America together” means saying that those who disagree with his agenda for America are hijackers or warmongers. Uniting the country means adopting his liberal agenda and abandoning any conflicting beliefs.

But right now everyone is talking about how eloquent of a speaker he is and – yes – they’re talking about his race. Those should never be the factors on which we base our choice for president. Mr. Obama’s radical agenda sets him far outside the American mainstream, to the left of Mrs. Clinton.

It’s time to talk about the real Barack Obama. In an election of firsts, let’s first make sure we elect the person who is qualified to be our president in a nuclear age during a global civilizational war.

Subject: Kind of scary, wouldn’t you think Remember–God is good, and is in time, on time–every time. According to The Book of Revelations the anti-christ is: The anti-christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal….the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything. Is it OBAMA?? I STRONGLY URGE each one of you to repost this as many times as you can! Each opportunity that you have to send it to a friend or media outlet…do it! If you think I am crazy..Im sorry but I refuse to take a chance on the “unknown” candidate

Obama is closing in on Hillary in Pennsylvania-McCain is Still # ONE !!!

Hillary leads Obama by only 5% points (47% Clinton and 42% Obama)now for the lead vote getter in the Pennsylvania primary coming up on April 22, 2008 as opposed to 13% points 2 weeks ago according to Rasmussen Reports poll out yesterday. In an addition, the poll asked if they would like either candidate to drop out of the race and give the other a go at McCain, 21% said Clinton should drop and 18% said Obama should drop out.

While the above is for the Pennsylvania primary, the numbers for the nomination itself are showing at 45% for Clinton and 44% for Obama in a national poll and in a poll taken on who would the voter vote for if the election were held today, McCain grabs 47% to Obama’s 41% and McCain 46% to Clinton’s 42%. McCain has a national favorable poll of 57% and unfavorable of 41%.

There is a lot of time left “until the fat lady sings”!

Democratic Political Venom

The following is  a paragraph from today’s NYT online. It is part of a comment from Senator Patrick Leahy who has called for Hillary Clinton to resign and resume a remarkable career in the Senate:

“I am very concerned. John McCain, who has been making one gaffe after another, is getting a free ride on it, because Senator Obama and Senator Clinton have to fight with each other. I think that her criticism is hurting him more than anything John McCain has said.”

He, Leahy, is attempting by streching the truth beyond its limits, to demean Senator McClain for his recent mixing up of the Sunni’s and the Shiites in a speech. Leahy going far and away from the facts when he says ” McCain has been making one gaffe after another”. What the hell does he call the lies of Obama and Clinton? How does he explain Obama, who ius his chosen candidate, condoning a Preacher damning America, blaming the U.S.A. for 9/11, his remarks about Italians and Jews? How does he rationalize Obama’s no votes in the Senate both the U.S. Senate and the Illinois Senate before that? Thius man is an embarrassment to the voters of Vermont who blindly keep electing him to the Senate. Maybe they will wake up.

Ode To Hillary – – It’s The Presidency to which you aspire !

Liar, Liar pants on fire

It’s your lies of which we tire.

You didn’t put your head down, you weren’t under fire

Your dishonesty has put you in the mire.

From this fiasco, let’s see you squeeze

You usually manage to slip out with ease.

The damage to your campaign is done

This time Bill wasn’t the one.

Sinbad says that he don’t lie

He says your stories just don’t fly.

Your head wasn’t down; it was in your ass

This time the media gives you no pass.

The time has come when we have to say

Hillary, Hillary please go away.

Another Vote Ignored by OBAMA aka NO Bama!

This was taken direct from the capitol Reporter:

Recent Senate Votes
FISA Amendments Act of 2007 – Vote Passed (68-29, 3 Not Voting)

The Senate passed this intelligence bill that would revise U.S. surveillance laws and grant retroactive immunity to telecommunications companies that helped the government conduct warrantless wiretapping of U.S. citizens.

Sen. Richard Durbin voted
NO……send e-mail or see bio
Sen. Barack Obama voted Not Voting……send e-mail or see bio

Also, please note that Senator DICK Durbin has voted NO! That no vote endangers you, your family and the whole country. His refusal to allow FISA expansion and put us (the United States) at the mercy of terrorists is done without any concern for the people of the USA. It is evident that the two Democratic Senators that the people of Illinois have representing them are not interested in the welfare of the people they represent and are more concerned about the rights of terrorists than our lives. VOTE THEM OUT!

Obama Shows his Lack of Knowledge and Judgement!

It’s a Q&A with Barack Obama December 20th in the Boston Globe, Charlie Savage wrote the story.  Try this one.  This is number five.  “Does the Constitution permit a president to detain US citizens without charges as unlawful enemy combatants?”  Obama’s answer:  “No. I reject the Bush Administration’s claim that the President has plenary authority under the Constitution to detain U.S. citizens without charges as unlawful enemy combatants.”  Memo to Obama:  It is not the Bush administration’s position.  The Supreme Court held in 2004 — this is the famous case, US vs. Hamdi.  The president has the power to detain American citizens without charges as enemy combatants.  Now, I just have to think here — I don’t know what to think.  He’s either ignorant or he’s saying something far more dangerous.  If he is saying that he’s not bound by the Supreme Court’s interpretation of the law, liberals would have a stroke if Bush claimed the kind of authority that Obama is claiming in this — and ignorance.

Think about this, think long and hard about this.

Senator Edward Moore Kennedy endorses Barack Obama , everyone EXCITED!!

Senator Edward Moore Kennedy endorsed Barack Obama for President. Everyone is excited because he is the last of the Kennedy boys. The head of the Kennedy political dynasty. Along with Edward aka Teddy, two other Kennedy family members also endorsed Obama. They were Patrick Kennedy and Caroline Kennedy.

Let’s focus on Teddy for this piece. I can’t see why anyone would be excited about his endorsement. His endorsement in 2000 of Al Bore may have been the kiss of death for Bore’s failed campaign. In his own campaign in 1980 he was beaten by a margin of 2 to 1 by none other than that stellar example of a President “Jimmah Cartah”. When he was in college, he was kicked out of Harvard for CHEATING. After a campaign interview in 1980 Roger Mudd said of Kennedy “he is a bumbling, incoherent person who is less than honest about the marriage and the Chappaquiddick incident”. That incident  is where he drove off a bridge and left the girl in the car with him to drown! This man belongs in prison and if he were anyone else but a Kennedy, he would be there for life.

It simply amazes me that any candidate would want his endorsement or for that matter anything to do with him. He is the personification of a loser. He has been a Senator for Massachusetts for 9 six year terms (54 years at the end of his current term). It’s beyond me how the People keep re-electing him over and over again. He is 76 years old and has been involved in so many scandals he makes Bill Clinton look like a choir boy!

If voters bother to look,  Kennedy is probably most liberal Senator we have.

Senator Obama, good luck with this one!

“Loose” Change!

When you take a close look at the current race for President and concentrate on the Democratic Party candidates they ALL are talking about CHANGE as the base for their platform. If I am not mistaken Senator Barack Obama is the candidate who started the idea of making CHANGE as a campaign slogan and the others picked up on it due to them thinking that was part of the cause for Obama’s celebrity. The problem is they all advocate CHANGE but aside from saying they are for a CHANGE in leadership in Washington (isn’t that what the election is all about anyway?) they don’t expand on much else. Obama’s campaign slogan is “CHANGE we can believe in”. Clinton says “I believe in CHANGE”. Edwards, in a campaign speech recently is quoted as saying “Obama believes deeply in CHANGE and I believe deeply in CHANGE” (sounds like his looking for spot #2 on Obama’s ticket to me). The rest of the candidates should make a great CHANGE and get off trying to win the nomination as they have as much chance of winning as Jesse Jackson did when he ran in 1988!What form of CHANGE then are they talking about? One can only guess that is must have to do with some of the programs they have bandied about in their stump speeches and the propaganda their staff hands out to gullible voters. They want to CHANGE the war on terrorism (some candidates say there is no terrorism so why wage war on something that is not there). Some are talking about a CHANGE in immigration laws to make it easier to gain citizenship and others are going to make a CHANGE so everyone has healthcare and on and on it goes. The only thing I can see happening with the CHANGES I have mentioned as well as the others I have not is that they cost money. Money the government does not have. So, where will the money come from? I will tell you: they will borrow it and then they will raise our taxes in order to pay back the debt and then we will have only LOOSE CHANGE left in our pockets to spend after we get our paychecks!

I see absolutely no CHANGE here at all. It is the usual tax and spend policy of the left.

Obama on Obama is how the headline reads!

The following are the first few paragraphs of an op-ed article in the Lebanon Express from Lebanon Oregon. It pretty well sums up what I have been saying for months:

“When it comes to self-reflection, Barack Obama is an overachiever. At age 46, he has already written two memoirs when most people in public life – sometime at the end of their career – will be lucky to write one.”

“So far, what Obama seems set to get out of his presidential campaign is yet another memoir – this one an agonized, deeply personal account of how his campaign went nowhere despite all the media hoopla, crowds and fundraising. It turns out that voters aren’t as interested in Barack Obama as Barack Obama is. “

Obama’s problem as it well points out is he is so full of himself, he has no room for other thoughts. He has convinced himself that he is the best person to fill the position of the 44th President of The United States of America. He is not convincing the majority of the voters nationwide. Please notice I said nationwide! I did not pick a small poll in an insignificant location that samples only all 28 Obama supporters and call it a win for Obama!

Please don’t think I believe that Hillary will win anything but the nomination. She doesn’t have the “juice” either!

A small piece in the paper today made mention that “Jack Murtha” the Congressman who calls our Marines killers just returned from Iraq and he said “THE SURGE IS WORKING”! That is bad for the Democrats. They will jump all over his ass for making a positive comment about what they call “Bush’s War”. However, that IS what will put the Republicans back in the White House and Congress. Americans like winners and they don’t like losers. The Liberals are losers. You do the math!
