Hillary has Emily’s list & Obama has Oprah.
Hillary has Spielberg & Obama has Clooney.

On and on it goes. Oprah trumps Emily’s list but Spielberg trumps Clooney.

What we are really talking about here is the making of a popularity contest not only of the candidates but of their supporters as well.

What happened to the issues?

Oh, yes, I almost forgot. Dennis Kucinich has both Sean Penn and Larry Flint in his corner. Out of the world is you ask me!

Isn’t that special? Sure makes me want to run out a vote for him right now. NOT!!

  1. I don’t care much for celebrity endorsements since they amount to nothing but oohs and ahhs. However, Oprah endorsing Obama may help him in that unlike Babs Streisand, she does command attention and is well liked. Streisand’s endorsement of Hillary is like, golly wow, who cares. In fact, Babs annoys people far too many times than any Hollywood idiot. She even beats Fonda and Penn.

    Thanx for the comment, you bring out a great point. Who really cares for some of these so called stars? I often wonder IF they just come out for “support” of a candidate just to get “face time”. Oprah will no doubt do well for Obama but again, that is what I point out in the article, the people who vote for him because of what she says are not voting for issues, policies or programs, they are voting because OPRAH says Obama is the one to vote for. That’s wrong, simply wrong!

  5. I’m sure McCain if he could would like to have the so called stars and entertaiment field behind him. He was on Leno this week and oftens visit Letterman. He also represents our party and frankly we haven’t alot to stand on, because of GW. I don’t blame Americans of be weary of McCain, because of the disaster of Cheney and Bush. IF McCain wins, he will not be a Crooked and Phoney as George Bush. People are tired of the lies and his management of Government. He only has his self to blame, with the like of Rove, Cheney and advisors. If McCain loses it will because of GW, since McCain lost to GW in 2000, you wonder why WE as Republicans choose McCain as our leader. He is really not what I want in the White House. Lets face it, 72 and forgetful, old and not with alot of new ideas. Either way Americans are going to have a tough time. One thing I like about Obama is the chatter of Change..we need it

    You are correct, they CAN’T help it who endorses them. However, they ENCOURAGE the left coast crowd and invite them and gladly take their money. The empty headed actors and actresses think they have a say in the politics of this country. Thank Gog they are once again mistaken. Even Obama, as clueless as he is, would not let those whacko’s make policy! He just opens his hand, they drop checks in it and he says thanx with the big smile he has cultivated.
